Although their 10.5km range and 66 knot top speed are average for Tier IX, her 19,033 damage per torpedo is high for the tier, as is her flood chance. In addition to her main battery, Velos mounts one quintuple torpedo rack, with the same Mk 16 torpedoes found on Fletcher. She can outgun most lower tier destroyers and many same tier torpedo destroyers, but she’ll need help to engage Tier X gunboats and destroyer hunters. However, dedicated gunboats like Friesland and Kitakaze have even greater DPM. Although she has one less turret, that shorter reload gives her a higher sustained DPM than her American cousins. Her main battery reload is also impressive at 2.5 seconds stock, faster than Fletcher and one of the fastest at Tier IX. Although she has less range, she retains the fastest-in-tier traverse, able to rotate her turrets 180 degrees in just 5.3 seconds. Her 12.1km main battery range is slightly below average for the tier, the same as Chung Mu but less than Fletcher and Black. She shares Fletcher’s floaty shells and long flight times, which allow her to farm targets from behind most island cover, but hitting agile targets at range is more difficult. Both her guns and shells are identical to those found on other Fletcher-class destroyers. Velos carries four 127mm guns in four single turrets, two forward and two aft of the superstructure. Although serving in the European tech tree, she is much closer to her American cousins than her European counterparts. One of the many Fletcher-class destroyers built by the US and later transferred to other nations, Tier IX premium destroyer Velos takes her place as the first Greek ship in the game.
